Chairman Gautam Adani has announced that the Adani Group will invest an extra ₹50,000 crore in India’s Northeast over the next ten years. This takes the group’s total planned investment in the region to ₹1 lakh crore.
He made this announcement at the Rising Northeast Investors Summit in New Delhi, showing his continued support for the region’s growth.
“Just three months ago, we promised ₹50,000 crore for Assam. Today, inspired again by your leadership, I’m happy to announce another ₹50,000 crore for the entire Northeast over the next decade,” Adani said.
According to the Adani Group, this new round of investment will go into many key areas: green energy, smart meters, hydroelectric power, energy storage, electricity transmission, road and highway building, digital infrastructure, logistics, and setting up training centers to build local skills.
Adani stressed that their focus isn’t just on buildings and infrastructure—it’s on people.
“More than just roads and power lines, we want to invest in people. Every project will focus on creating jobs for locals, supporting small businesses, and including communities in our work,” he added.
He also mentioned that since 2014, the Northeast has seen ₹6.2 lakh crore in investment. Roads have doubled from 8,000 km to 16,000 km, and the number of airports has gone from 9 to 18.
“This is more than just policy—it’s proof of big thinking and strong belief in inclusive growth,” Adani said.
Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strategy of “Act East, Act Fast, Act First,” Adani said it gave the Northeast the push it needed to start moving forward.
“Hon’ble Prime Minister, your call to action woke up the region and gave it a new direction,” he said.
The Adani Group confirmed that its investments will align with the goals of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” which aims to make India a developed nation by its 100th year of independence.
“Hon’ble Prime Minister, we will walk with your vision. Hon’ble Chief Ministers, we will stand beside your people. Hon’ble Minister of the Northeast, we will support your mission,” Adani said.
