The bridge has an arch shape with two ribs that are designed from large steel trusses.

The DMIC is currently a work in progress and reports suggest that the total estimated cost of the project is around $90 billion. The project is registered under 49% equity to the Government of India, 29% by JBIC (Japan Bank for International Cooperation) and the remainder by individual government institutions.
