Greater Noida Terminal: A Game-Changing Railway Hub Coming Soon

The upcoming Greater Noida Terminal, formerly known as Bodaki station, is set to become one of the most modern and important railway hubs in North India. Designed to serve as the NCR’s main gateway to eastern India, this massive infrastructure project is already making headlines.

According to a recent Times of India report, the terminal will have the capacity to handle up to 100 trains, including the Vande Bharat Express and other top-tier services.

A Massive Multimodal Transport Hub

Spanning 46 hectares within a broader 176-hectare transport hub, the terminal will feature:

  • 12 platforms
  • 63 yard lines for train maintenance
  • A ground level for core railway operations
  • Upper floors with commercial shops and offices

This mixed-use design will turn the station into more than just a travel stop — it’s set to become a commercial hotspot as well.

Boosting Connectivity to Eastern India

Located less than an hour from the upcoming Noida International Airport, the new terminal will significantly improve travel options between Delhi-NCR and states in eastern India.

The surrounding hub will also include:

  • An inter-state bus terminal
  • A local transit station
  • A metro line connecting Depot to Bodaki

This seamless connectivity will benefit daily commuters from Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and nearby areas.

Rising Costs, Bigger Vision

Originally approved at ₹1,850 crore, the project’s cost is now expected to double due to design upgrades. Since it was declared a special railway project in December, land acquisition has picked up speed.

A dedicated official has been appointed to speed up the land process, with acquisition expected to finish within two months.

Who’s Behind the Project?

The master plan is being created by DMIC-IITGNL, a special development company jointly owned by NICDIT and GNIDA. While Indian Railways will build the core station infrastructure, the SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) will manage funding and supporting developments.

The project is split into two zones:

  • 130 hectares for commercial and transit use
  • 46 hectares for the terminal

It will also be directly linked to major highways and the Delhi-Howrah rail line.

A Vision for the Future

Expected to be completed in the next three years, the Greater Noida Terminal will:

  • Ease congestion at Anand Vihar station
  • Trigger urban growth along the fast-developing Greater Noida corridor

This new terminal isn’t just a transport upgrade — it’s a key step in shaping the future of urban infrastructure and mobility in NCR.
