On September 15, the Indian Railways is going to launch 10 new Vande Bharat Express trains, a part of the country’s push to modernize its railway system. The high-speed trains with advanced features and reduced travel time are expected to transform rail travel.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that online booking will be allowed on routes like Tatanagar-Patna, Ranchi-Godda, and Agra-Varanasi to enhance connectivity. This comes after the launch of three Vande Bharat trains on August 31, which increased travel convenience in Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
The new trains have advanced safety systems, faster speeds, and superior passenger amenities such as ergonomic reclining seats, mobile charging sockets, and armor and train collision avoidance systems.
One of these is the Hubli-Pune Vande Bharat Express, which reduces travel time between Karnataka and Maharashtra by a huge margin. With this additional Nagpur-Secunderabad Vande Bharat train, there will be eight Vande Bharat trains running in Maharashtra, boosting high-speed connectivity in the state.
Currently, six Vande Bharat trains run under the Central Railway, including CSMT-Shirdi and Nagpur-Indore.
Both the infrastructure and image of Indian Railways are changing rapidly. The safety and security of passengers are still important, but modern trains are defining the image of the railways. On Sunday, September 15, passengers will get good news as the Indian Railways is working to modernize its trains and tracks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi may announce or launch 10 Vande Bharat trains during his Jharkhand visit. Vande Bharat Express is currently running on around 34 routes.
States like Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Telangana will benefit from the new Vande Bharat Express trains.
The newly built Vande Bharat trains will connect Patna, Tata to Berhampur, Varanasi to Deoghar, Visakhapatnam to Durg, Howrah to Gaya, Howrah to Bhagalpur, Hubli to Pune, Nagpur to Secunderabad, Agra Cantt to Varanasi and Howrah to Rourkela.
One must remember that these Vande Bharat trains are chair car trains and not the Vande Bharat sleeper trains that have been introduced recently. Vande Bharat trains run on routes that can be covered in about eight to eight hours. Indian Railways will officially announce the timings of the upcoming trains.
The Vande India Express, which has 16 air-conditioned coaches, has two executive class coaches. There is a total space for 1,128 passengers. The chair car version of the Vande Bharat Express currently has eight coaches, with 530 seats. Chair car trains run on routes that are between about 600 to 800 km. The sleeper version will have 823 seats and 16 coaches. It will run on a distance of over 800 km.
